Jenny Wise, MA in Visual Art
Art Educator, Mindfulness and Equity Instructor & Artist
As an art educator, I support diverse populations of K-12 students using art as a vehicle for self-awareness, growth and expression. Visual and verbal literacy come together as personal narrative tools so that students can design and solve their own "problems/ challenges." I blend the high-engagement delight of choice- based learning with challenging technical discipline-based instruction in realistic drawing, digital photography, 3-D sculpture and pottery, watercolor landscapes, human and animal acrylic and tempera portraits, altered book and sketch challenges, and mindful artistic exercises in nature and our sensory world. I also teach student yoga, ceramic wheel throwing, cartooning, and mural design clubs. Over the past decade, I've mentored teen artists through art summer camps.
